Initiative to Include Modern Greek on the FCPS Credit Exam for World Languages
Every year, Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) offers 7th-12th grade students the opportunity to obtain High School credit for their knowledge of a foreign language. Please click on Credit Exam for World Languages for more information.
Currently 26 world languages are offered as part of this exam, but Modern Greek is not one of them. The Saint Katherine HEC Greek School is leading an initiative to include Modern Greek. To do so, we need to provide a list of 200 FCPS students who are currently enrolled in 6th through 12th grades and know Greek to FCPS. Please help us with this initiative. If you or your child are a 6th-12th grader in Fairfax County Public Schools, please send the following information to firstname.lastname@example.org:
- Phone Number
- Email Address
This is an important initiative that has many incredible benefits. It offers our children the opportunity to earn credit for their knowledge of Greek and serves a larger purpose to have Modern Greek recognized by one of the largest school districts in the United States.
If you know of others who are in FCPS 6th-12th grade and know Greek, please forward this information to them.
