The Heritage Greece® Program is a two-week program sponsored by the members of the NHS and grants from several Greek-American and Greek- Canadian foundations to reconnect students of Greek descent to their roots under the stipulation that they have a Greek grandparent, parent, etc.   It is a "Greek immersion" experience with classes/educational experiences on food, culture, language and heritage. 

 

The student/parents are responsible for the airfare to and from Greece, and any personal expenses- all other costs for the program are paid for by the NHS and our sponsors!  

 

The Heritage Greece®  program is a really great, life changing program and the participants become part of an Alumni network where they have access to the NHS members for guidance, internships, even post graduation opportunities. Several participants have met their spouses on the trip, most of the students have created "friends for life" relationships, many students have re-connected to the church, to YAL, and to other church and Greek organizations. Participants have also become part of The National Hellenic Student Association that oversees the Greek clubs at universities and colleges.  We hope you will be able to offer this great opportunity to the students in our parish!
